Open Wednesday through Sunday 10am to 5pm
Our newest exhibition, “Steinbeck’s Salinas: A Writer’s Hometown” is now open! In this exhibit, we have selected images and text from the National Steinbeck Center’s archive collection to illustrate some of the places and people that made Salinas home for John Steinbeck. These historic photographs, maps, artifacts, and text from John Steinbeck’s works as well as the Pauline Pearson Collection of Oral Histories show some of the most important places and people in John Steinbeck’s young life. This enduring sense of Salinas as his home is, as he so eloquently wrote, a matter of feeling. So come tell us what “home” means to you and enjoy an interactive experience in our Arts & Culture Gallery. Open now until December 3, 2023 and is free with your museum admission.
