This collection consists of books published about the history of Monterey County, as well as specific artifacts relating to the agricultural history of the Salinas Valley. Most of this collection is of secondary materials: books and articles about local history. However, it also includes a contribution from the Japanese American Citizens League: an oral history project about the first and second generation Japanese citizens who moved to Monterey County.
